Most believe Jesus was crucified on Friday afternoon and arose on Sunday morning. That is what we have been taught over the centuries. However, in Matthew 12:40 Jesus says that he will be in the ground for 3 days and 3 nights! As you will see below, what we have been taught doesn’t line up with what Jesus said would happen. I propose here a possible solution to this dilemma.

What John 3:16 Does Not Say
How often have we heard that this is the most important part of the Bible? Christians hang on it very strongly, and rightly so. As in my post about scripture mistakes, I want to go over this deeper. People need to dig into what it says, and then live by it. There is no arrogance in it, yet people become arrogant when they read it. Sad, isn’t it?

I was an F-14 Tomcat radar intercept officer, and one of my many jobs in the plane was navigation. I needed to know not only where we were but also where our carrier was. If we were close enough to reach land, it was also my job to know if there were any alternative airports that we could use in an emergency. It is easier to do from an airport that doesn’t move and has landmarks around it. What did I need to do if I was lost?
Read moreThe Golden Calf and Comfort Zones
When I first read the story about the Golden Calf in Exodus 32, it was very easy for me to judge both Aaron and the people. I could not believe that anyone would be that stupid. I was a very immature Christian at that time. Since then I have realized that there is a powerful story there for both you and me. So, I share this with you.

What if God’s #1 angel wrote a book about the Creation in the style of “The Book of Acts”? How do things look from His point of view? I was inspired to write this after reading C. S. Lewis’s “The Screwtape Letters”. That book is a great read. I was told to read that book every 3 years, to see how much it changed each time. It was not the book that had changed, I changed so much I felt like I was reading a different book each time! Remember, this is written from Satan’s point of view, as I speculate it to be.

There are times when just a few words, or a short quote, tell us what we need to hear at that time. Here are some short, spiritual things that I hope that some of these will touch you and help you along your path. Some are in text, some in graphics. They are here to help you along in this life we share. Please take the time to think about them.

Whether you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim, or profess another religion, you have heard of “Judgement Day”. No, not like in the Terminator series of movies! It’s when we stand before God to answer for our deeds and thoughts in life. Was I good enough? Did I help enough people? Was I a drain on those around me? There’s just us, a defense attorney, the prosecution team, and the judge. Wow, that Judge has some desk! How will this play out? (This is the revised and expanded version!)
Read moreGod Responds!
Here is a short poem/story about a person in a sad place, who is crying out to God. Unfortunately, the response is right in front of them, yet it is ignored. I don’t know who the original author is. Certainly, I have lived almost all of these verses from time to time.

Does God speak to you? If someone else says that God speaks to them, are they hallucinating? What are examples of God speaking to someone, both in the past and today? These are all good questions, about something very important. Let’s take a look at the subject of God speaking to people.
Read moreWho Cannot Be A Disciple
There are those who call Jesus ‘Teacher’, and that is good. I am glad that people believe that they can learn something from Jesus. There are those who call Jesus ‘Savior’, and that is also good. It is wonderful that some people have realized that they need Jesus as a defense attorney when Satan accuses them before God. There are those who call Him ‘Lord’, and that is very good. But there’s more to the story.
Read moreScripture Mistakes!
So many people claim to love scripture, yet don’t live their lives accordingly. True, each and every one of us is “off-track” and none of us has a totally clear and complete picture of God nor God’s plan. I have encountered many people that deeply value reading the Bible, which is good. However, I see little evidence in talking with them that they value their relationship with God. So, let’s have some fun (with no intention of being blasphemous) modifying some scriptures.
Read more10 or 9?
There have been discussions about putting the 10 Commandments in public places. Those that are against it, say that the Government should not endorse Christian principles. They don’t realize that those Commandments are Jewish! There is no record of Him repeating them with a passion to anyone or any crowd! He was not into rules, but relationships. As a Christian myself, I don’t want the 10 Commandments in public places, I want something much, much stronger!

In over four decades of an intimate walk with God, I have been pulled into many conversations. More than half of that time I have had a presence on the internet with well over 500,000 visitors from over 90 countries to my website (which this blog replaces). In short, I have been asked a lot of very good questions about God and Heaven. Here are my answers!
Read moreChristian, Christ-follower or Rescue?
Those who believe the New Testament found in Bibles go around calling themselves Christians. Some have decided that “Christian” is not the best word for them and have switched to “Christ-follower”. There is nothing wrong with either word, as both have solid roots. I have met some “Christians”, who are proud of being one, yet when I look at how they live, at how they treat others, I get confused about what they say is their value system! To be honest, it’s sad. I prefer
Read moreChosen How? Why?
The phrase “Chosen People” is often used in culture to justify believing that “we” are “better” than “them” because “God” chose “us”. While self-righteousness is not anyone’s best quality, it is a common feature of almost all cultures. It is rare to find a culture that believes others are just as good and just as important as “us”. How are we chosen: elected, drafted, or selected?
