Earning God’s Love and Respect

For so many people, it is important to live life in such a way that God will love them more. They also want God’s respect, as well as self-respect. To have God be proud of them, to get God’s “seal of approval” is very, very important to them. Let’s face it, they know, as I do, that they have “fallen short of the glory of God” and they want to fix that. It’s a very commendable way of looking at God and at life.

Judgement Day!

Whether you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim, or profess another religion, you have heard of “Judgement Day”. No, not like in the Terminator series of movies! It’s when we stand before God to answer for our deeds and thoughts in life. Was I good enough? Did I help enough people? Was I a drain on those around me? There’s just us, a defense attorney, the prosecution team, and the judge. Wow, that Judge has some desk! How will this play out? (This is the revised and expanded version!)

God’s Voice

Does God speak to you? If someone else says that God speaks to them, are they hallucinating? What are examples of God speaking to someone, both in the past and today? These are all good questions, about something very important. Let’s take a look at the subject of God speaking to people.

Who Cannot Be A Disciple

There are those who call Jesus ‘Teacher’, and that is good. I am glad that people believe that they can learn something from Jesus. There are those who call Jesus ‘Savior’, and that is also good. It is wonderful that some people have realized that they need Jesus as a defense attorney when Satan accuses them before God. There are those who call Him ‘Lord’, and that is very good. But there’s more to the story.

David and Goliath: The Whole Story

We have all heard how David was such a hero and took out Goliath, saving Israel. But have we looked into WHY David did it? Was he a “savior”, a selfless hero? Was he noble? Well, we are led to believe that, but that’s not the whole story! He may have been all of those, but he was also many other things. Let’s go through that story in First Samuel, Chapter 17 step-by-step and see things that you may not have been told, or realized!

10 or 9?

There have been discussions about putting the 10 Commandments in public places. Those that are against it, say that the Government should not endorse Christian principles. They don’t realize that those Commandments are Jewish! There is no record of Him repeating them with a passion to anyone or any crowd! He was not into rules, but relationships. As a Christian myself, I don’t want the 10 Commandments in public places, I want something much, much stronger!

My Answers to Questions

In over four decades of an intimate walk with God, I have been pulled into many conversations. More than half of that time I have had a presence on the internet with well over 500,000 visitors from over 90 countries to my website (which this blog replaces). In short, I have been asked a lot of very good questions about God and Heaven. Here are my answers!

Christian, Christ-follower or Rescue?

Those who believe the New Testament found in Bibles go around calling themselves Christians. Some have decided that “Christian” is not the best word for them and have switched to “Christ-follower”. There is nothing wrong with either word, as both have solid roots. I have met some “Christians”, who are proud of being one, yet when I look at how they live, at how they treat others, I get confused about what they say is their value system! To be honest, it’s sad. I prefer

Chosen How? Why?

The phrase “Chosen People” is often used in culture to justify believing that “we” are “better” than “them” because “God” chose “us”. While self-righteousness is not anyone’s best quality, it is a common feature of almost all cultures. It is rare to find a culture that believes others are just as good and just as important as “us”. How are we chosen: elected, drafted, or selected?

A Bible Books Search

“Surely you have seen the Bible Books Search that has been around for years.  It has been quite popular, but no one knows who wrote it. It contained in a hidden form about 16 Bible Books, but the words seemed quite disconnected to me. Recently, I have undertaken to re-write it and, hopefully, make it into a more connected story while increasing the number of hidden Bible Books to 31.” – Dr. Skelton of Winder, Georgia

Now it has more, as my son and I added the remainder. There are 66 books in the Bible, and they have a total of 1,187 chapters. The unique books are listed at the bottom of this page.

Tabernacle, Temple, and Today

In the Old Testament, we learn about both the Tabernacle and the Temple. As the Hebrew people left Egypt, they set up the Tabernacle (tent) and after they settled in the Promised Land, Solomon built the Temple. Both had similar layouts. I confess that reading about them is not very … exciting. However, when you see God’s message in their layout, you can see that it’s a guide to your walk with Jesus!

Rejected Lambs

I got this from a friend, and thought it so good that I wanted more people to have the opportunity to read it. If you have felt rejected, disrespected or ignored, this is for you. Especially if it happened when you were younger, and the experience has marked your life ever since. Here’s one thing that shepherds do with the lambs that are rejected by their mothers. See if this encourages you!
